Working Group Strategic Priorities

Since launching the BC Wine Grape Industry Task Force (WGITF) Working Groups in July, we have been building positive momentum that will help carry us through the next 18 months.

Over the last few months, each of the six Working Groups—Business Economics, Climate Resilience, Data Strategy, Market Development, Long-Term Industry Strategy, and Organizational Alignment—has convened three times to align on the strategic priorities that will guide our work through 2027. These priorities provide the foundation for a focused slate of priority projects designed to strengthen competitiveness, improve coordination, and support sustainable growth across the sector.

What does this mean for the next year and a half? With strategic priorities now set at the working-group level, the Task Force is moving into action mode. We are preparing to kick off our first priority projects in December/January, supported by clear milestones, cross-group coordination, and regular progress updates to industry.

To support this work, we’ve engaged the WGITF Communications Committee to amplify updates and ensure consistent, transparent communication across the sector. Watch for a town hall soon, where we’ll share an overview of the priorities and introduce the initial projects.
