The BC Wine Grape Industry Task Force’s Business Economics Working Group is seeking engaged industry members to participate in a pilot project to help develop a Business Modelling and Benchmarking Toolkit.
Geared specifically towards small-to-medium businesses, the toolkit aims to provide BC grape growers and wineries with practical resources to better understand their business economics, benchmark performance, and support financial planning and forecasting.
What does participation involve?
Pilot Group participants will be asked to take part in an initial one-hour consultation with Cascadia Partners to share insights into their business structure, operations, and financials. This will be followed by periodic email consultations throughout the development process to help ensure the toolkit is practical, relevant, and reflective of industry needs.
You will not be asked to provide any data as a pilot participant, with the focus being on identifying and refining the specific financial and operational benchmarks to be included in the toolkit. Once the toolkit’s structure and contents are finalized, a voluntary industry-wide survey will be administered to collect the data required to compute the benchmarks included in the toolkit. Individual survey responses will be held in strict confidence and used only to compute the published benchmarks.
Industry participation is key to help shape this valuable resource that will help support business decisions and long-term financial sustainability across BC’s wine grape sector.
