Long-Term Industry Strategy

Description

Mandate: To develop and implement a comprehensive, industry-wide strategy that ensures the long-term growth, sustainability, and success of BC’s wine grape sector by coordinating priorities, defining responsibilities, and securing lasting support.

Working Group Responsibilities: 

  • Attend and actively participate in working group meetings (quarterly minimum).
  • Contribute to the identification, development, and delivery of key strategic priorities.
    • The Advisory Committee will approve strategic priorities, project budgets, and deliverables recommended by each group. Where strategic overlaps occur, groups will coordinate with one another to ensure aligned implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a tactical action plan along with key metrics for tracking success.
  • Implement Working Group projects, as approved by the Advisory Committee
  • Embed sustainability, DEIA, and knowledge transfer into all activities.
  • Meet on an ad-hoc basis for emerging events.
  • Submit progress reports and final summaries to the Program Delivery Team and Advisory Committee.

Skills & Qualifications:

We’re seeking visionary leaders and systems thinkers to help guide the BC wine grape industry toward a resilient and sustainable future. If you have experience in strategic planning, sustainability, funding, or multi-stakeholder collaboration, your expertise is essential.

Working group participants should be actively engaged in BC’s Wine Grape Industry Task Force and bring relevant experience to the working group theme in at least one of the following areas: 

1. Strategic Planning & Systems Leadership: Proven experience developing long-term strategies with a track record of aligning diverse initiatives under a common vision.

2. Sustainability Integration: Skilled in embedding environmental, social, and economic sustainability into planning, with knowledge of Environmental, Social and Governance principles and reporting frameworks.

3. Stakeholder Alignment & Governance: Experience of participating in multi-stakeholder processes, with experience in governance design, role clarity, and accountability structures.

4. Funding & Resource Mobilization: Knowledgeable of diverse funding mechanisms, with experience supporting grant development and investment strategies.

5. Measurement & Evaluation: Competent in defining KPIs and using monitoring tools to track progress and ensure strategic impact.
